About Us

We are a collection of teachers who are passionate about helping students realize their full potential. Our instruction goes beyond just lessons. We care about seeing every student aspire to something great, whether beginner or expert. So, we've built a program that uses all of our real-world experience and connections to give the next generation a pipeline to success.
Pittsburgh School of the Arts began in 2015 when Kate Griffin, who had been teaching piano since age 12, hired a few additional instructors to teach out of her home. Today, our studio has grown to a two-story commercial facility with an on-site recording studio and media lab. Our program offers a wide range of instruction in private and group settings. We offer private lessons in voice, piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, upright bass, mandolin, banjo, songwriting, recording, and more. We also offer group classes in music theory, visual arts, creative writing, world percussion, and more. Our studio also hosts summer camps, bi-annual recitals, performance opportunities, and competitions.
We would love to meet you, answer any questions that you have & welcome you to participate in one of our camps or classes!
